The dissemination events of the results and the information campaign on the theme of renewable energy communities, organized by the Municipality of Brindisi, as part of the Co-Clean project, took place in Brindisi on 7 and 8 November 2022.

"An important milestone for the municipality of Brindisi - commented the mayor Riccardo Rossi - which has allowed the primary school of the Istituto Comprensivo Sant'Elia-Commenda in via Mantegna to make a green transition, increasingly in line with the goal of project to generate a positive change in the behaviour of citizens and stakeholders with reference to the sustainable use of energy resources, the reduction of CO2 emissions and the halt of climate change. A photovoltaic system was built on the roof of the school building which it will also make it possible to create an energy community, a new tool made available to build self-consumption around renewable sources. This plant has a power of 30 kW and will produce just over 40,000 kW in a year. Half of them will use them the school itself and the rest will be available to those in the neighborhood who want to be part of the energy community on which a lot is being worked on. Energy is produced and consumed on site while the excess is shared with other users".

This project was born with the aim of making the school autonomous, but also of creating an energy community to reduce costs and at the same time generate economic and environmental benefits for the community. The Municipality of Brindisi is working to carry out similar initiatives in other districts of the city.
